This has been a favorite in our house ever since it was featured on my kids’ school lunch menu. Now that they’re older, they still occasionally ask for it.

Since we’re big football fans and love easy game-day snacks, tacos in a bag are always a win. Guests can assemble their own, right in the chip bags, with their favorite toppings, making it a customizable and crowd-pleasing option.

Plus, eating straight from the bag adds a fun twist, and cleanup couldn’t be easier!

Walking Tacos Ingredients & Substitutions

  • Beef: Lean ground beef or switch it up with pork, chicken or ground turkey.
  • Chips: Single serve bags work best for walking tacos. You can use Doritos (regular or cool ranch), Fritos, tortilla chips or any other kinds of chips.
  • Toppings: I used shredded lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, shredded cheese. You can customize with whatever toppings you’d like.
  • Seasonings: Just a packet of taco seasoning or homemade taco seasoning is all you need. You can add a diced onion in with the ground beef if you’d like.
