Eyeball Pasta Ingredients

  • Pasta: I used spaghetti noodles but you could also use fettucine, rotini or egg noodles.
  • Meatballs: To save on time I used frozen meatballs but you can make your own meatballs.
  • Sauce: I used marinara sauce but you can also use spaghetti sauce in any flavor.
  • Cheese: I used mozzarella cheese and cut it out with a small circle cookie cutter.
  • Olives: Pre-sliced black olives completes the eyeballs shape for the pasta.

How to Make Eyeball Spaghetti

Cook the pasta, meatballs and sauce: Follow the instructions on the packaging to prepare the spaghetti noodles, meatballs and heat the pasta sauce.

Combine: Once the pasta and sauce are ready, mix the noodles with the heated sauce. (reserve some pasta sauce for the bloody eyeball effect)

Add the meatballs: Add a dollop of marinara sauce in the middle of spaghetti piles. Place a cooked meatball on top of each serving of spaghetti.

Create the eyes: Cut small circles from the cheese using a small cookie cutter to form the whites of the eyes, and place them on top of each meatball.

Finish with olives: Add a black olive slice on each cheese circle to complete the “eye” effect.

Helpful Tips & Variations

  • Change up the color of the pasta with some food coloring. Try black or green for a spooky effect.
  • You can omit the meatballs and just use mozzarella balls and sliced olives.
  • Add a pound of cooked ground beef for a meaty dish.
  • Make it gluten free with gluten free noodles and other gluten free ingredients.
  • You can make this ahead of time and reheat the next day.
