French Onion Smothered Pork Chops will be a new family favorite for dinner! Easy to make and the perfect comfort food in under an hour!
Whenever I am in a pinch to make something, this easy pork chops recipe is my go to. It’s so flavorful with minimal ingredients and doesn’t require a lot of prep work.
I prefer to bake it but you could also cook it in a skillet if you’d like. Serve with a side of veggies and a side salad for a complete meal the whole family will love.
French Onion Pork Chops Ingredients
- Pork Chops: Use boneless pork chops with regular thickness. You could use thin pork chops but cooking times will vary.
- Dip: Use a sour cream base of French onion dip.
- Onions: Crispy fried onions work best in this recipe and give it that crunch.
- Cheese: I used shredded Colby Jack cheese but you can use any kind of cheese you’d like.
How to Make French Onion Smothered Pork Chops
Preheat oven to 350. Spray a 9X13 baking dish with cooking spray and add pork chops to the bottom of baking dish.
Spread French onion dip evenly over top pork chops until fully covered.
Sprinkle shredded cheese over top then crispy fried onions.
Bake for 40-45 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 145 degrees F.
Serve and enjoy!

- 1 (16 ounce) container sour cream French onion dip
- 3 ounces crispy fried onions
- 2 cups shredded cheese Colby Jack or cheddar
